Carl Tibbetts is a director known for his compelling vision across sci-fi, thriller, and drama genres. He made his directorial debut with RETREAT, a thriller he co-wrote, starring Thandie Newton, Jamie Bell, and Cillian Murphy, which premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival and had an international release.

Tibbetts quickly gained recognition through his work on “Black Mirror”, directing the critically acclaimed episodes White Bear and the White Christmas special starring Jon Hamm and Rafe Spall. The latter received RTS and Broadcast award nominations, while Spall earned an International Emmy nomination for Best Actor.

Tibbetts went on to direct “Hemlock Grove” for Netflix and BBC One’s mini-series “The Woman in White” (2017), with lead Jessie Buckley earning an IFTA BAFTA nomination. His expertise in genre storytelling continued with Amazon Prime’s sci-fi series “The Feed” and the noir crime series “We Hunt Together” for BBC Studios and Showtime.

Recently, he directed “The Lazarus Project”, which earned Paapa Essiedu a BAFTA nomination and “True Love” for Channel 4 starring Lindsay Duncan, Clarke Peters and Sue Johnston. Lindsay was nominated for an Edinburgh tv award and Sue was nominated for a BAFTA.
